A half-hour jog will consume between 300 and 400 calories depending on your current weight. You really want to spend at least 1,000 calories a day to get started and then check your progress.

A pound of fat contains 3,500 calories, so to lose each week you have to lose 500 calories; every half hour of jogging would accomplish that. Expect to lose weight quickly at first through excessive water loss. And then calm down to 2-3 pounds per week. You really can’t lose much more than that at home, unless you have some serious exercise equipment.

What you can do is improve your flexibility and shape by doing stretching and flexibility exercises. Extend your arms in front of you and bend as far as you can to the left. Hold it for 3 seconds and then do the same on the right. Repeat 6 times to start. Do it several times a day and you will see that as time goes by you can increase the number of repetitions. As you feel more flexible and your waist becomes thinner.

Try leaning down to touch the floor with your hands. Don’t overstretch, but go as far as you can comfortably. Repeat 5 times and you will find yourself getting closer until you can finally touch the floor.

If you combine these exercises with more aerobic exercises that make you breathe hard. And your heart beats faster, you will soon notice weight loss. If not, then you are eating too many calories or not exercising enough. So take care of the problem.
