Known brands tricking their customers into purchasing their tasteless chocolates

May 18, 2020

It is so stupid for me, but I will not be lying if I say I prefer the packaging of things more than their quality and value that they give me. If something is nicely packed, I have to control my urge to spend my money on it. This is mainly why I spend hundreds of bills on chocolates that are packed neatly and then regret later because of their bitter taste. And I believe I am not the only one on this ship? With Valentines Day approaching, I am sure everybody is looking for cute gifts for the partners and what is better than gifting chocolates. But I must warn you as these brands are very smart with their tricks and hugely aware of our weakness which is cute and nicely packed chocolates. While you are thinking about gifting chocolates to your valentine, I would like to shift your attention to the pending assignments that are lying on your study table. Relax back and take professional help from Dissertation Helper in UK and then you are good to go for chocolate shopping. Let me state you the tricks that you should be applying before spending your thousands into buying such tasteless chocolates.

Things you should be looking for while Getting chocolates

Origin of Country

Mentioning the origin of the country on chocolate packaging is the most common practice of brands all over the world. However, the most saddening thing is the brands often lie about the origin of the country. As most of the brands mentioned, countries like Venezuela, Ecuador, and Peru since these are the most known countries for chocolates. You would be surprised to know that many bog brands are also deceiving us with the wrong information mentioned in their packaging. Every chocolate these days claims to be a Belgian Chocolate which is hardly true as marketers are aware of the fact that Belgian Chocolates are the main need of the consumers.

Farmers and Cocoa Tree Pictures

Another marketing technique that is adopted by these brands is displaying pictures of farmers and cocoa trees on their chocolate packaging. The aim of such pictures is to trick the customers into trusting them that the chocolates are of premium and high quality. Chocolate brands try to deceive their customers by gaining their trust that the overall process is transparent and cocoa is extracted directly from the farm. Their technique is to make the customers believe that no artificial and external flavors have been used in it.

Handmade and Handcrafted

No matter how advanced technology becomes, we still want some things in our old traditional ways; therefore, terms like handcrafted and handmade attract us all greatly. All the big brands are aware of their consumers’ psyche, and thus they use such heavy words on their packaging. These brands create a false image in the consumers’ minds that the chocolate is exclusive and had been handcrafted. However, such lies can easily be caught since no brand can manually afford to make chocolates in huge numbers. Therefore, it is quite obvious that the brand is lying when they state such things on their packaging.

Deceiving the customers by making them believe that their chocolate bar is unique and specially handcrafted from the seeds that are directly extracted from the farms. And sadly we all fall for this lie and end up buying such chocolates in bulk.

Ingredients

One of the most used techniques of these chocolate brands is that they do not disclose all their ingredients and often hide the necessary information. Since consumers have become more considerate about the things that they are in taking the chocolate brands have responded by minimizing the list of ingredients that are displayed on chocolates.

The main trick that they follow is that they claim that their chocolates are palm oil-free, with no preservatives, and have less sugar as well. Such tricks help the consumers to believe that their chocolates are healthy with no side effects.

The claims of brands to have simple ingredients and being preservatives free are mainly to device the customers into buying their chocolates. Such chocolate brands also deceive customers to make them feel safe and healthy.

Certifications

These chocolate brands also add fake certifications on their packaging in order to make the consumers believe that their product has various added values in them. The certifications like Fair Trade, Vegan, and Organic aim to make the customers believe that their product is of premium quality. The main mistake that the consumers often make is that they are usually unaware of the fact that certifications do not equate to high quality. Most importantly, there is no harm in verifying that the certificates are actually true, and it is just not a sticker on the package.

Packaging

Okay, this is where we usually lose, packaging plays a huge role in attracting the customers, and this is where they are right too. I will not be lying if I say I usually buy chocolates only because of their cute packaging, unaware of their taste and the ingredients that they use. There is no doubt about the fact that packaging is the deciding element that results in either making the product fly high, or it just fails to make an image in front of the customers.

One must keep it in mind that all the things that sparkle is not gold. All the big chocolate brands use multiple tricks in order to make their customers buy their products. That appealing packaging of the chocolate with the sticker of being organic could be fake and tasteless. So I would recommend you to think twice before falling into this trap.

Conclusion

Lastly, I would recommend you to be a little thoughtful before shopping. There is no harm in researching first before going shopping as it presents you with the various other options. With such easy access to the internet, it is not hard to research first and then buy later.
